Well I love Oxford, this time of course it was winter and we had snow, I walked about the town just clicking my camera in general wishing that there had been a bit more snow to show on the building, never mind it was a fun day, spent the afternoon in the library reading a book and then walked back when I espied the pub I used last time for meals and off I went for a late lunch. Scrummy too
This is my cousins son David, he is the lead singer for a band called "Glass Animals" it is different music. Everyone is very proud of them. David went to Paris with the band early the following morning. If you want to listen to some of the music some can be found on YouTube and here is there facebook link. http://www.facebook.com/glassanimals?fref=ts and of course on twitter too. https://twitter.com/GlassAnimals
Me and David's mum Orit
Michael and Hagan my double cousins
Of course I had to have my photo taken with them, I am the youngest cousin so growing up I dont remember them that much. Hagan is only 12 years junior to my dad.
Orit invited me to stay for a few days, it was the first time that I had ever met her with going to New Zealand, she is an amazing woman a delightful accent too. With having no hearing aids it was a bit difficult at times so having David at the meal table was good too. Orit invited me to go to Evensong at New College Collage chapel, nearly got lost it is complicated at the very least, we walked under the castle walls too, I had forgotten that they had one. We managed to listen to one song from the choir, it was most beautiful, I wouldn't mind listening to one again at some stage. next we went to a Sleep Seminar, want again it was quite interesting, what I heard, which wasn't much at times, though I got the gist from the pictures etc.
On Wednesday it was Hagan's birthday and I arranged to meet him at Brown's café.....well last time I was in there Hagan treated me for my birthday in 2008 with high tea. So it was fun to return. Before Hagan walked in his younger brother Michael did with his partner, wow what a lovely surprise and shock that was. I ended up spending the day with them wandering down the back ways around Oxford then taking them to meet Orit, we ended up going out for lunch at Jee Saheb to have a curry and the snow struck hard, it was fun for me to walk in.
This above link is the only one I could find about the restaurant. We had an enjoyable time there.
Back at Orit's house we looked through our family history, as I said under one of the photos with my cousins we are double cousins. They are my 1st cousins on my dads side and they are about 4th cousins on my mothers side. My cousin Sarah in Skegness and myself managed to confirm my mothers thoughts that her sister in law was also her 3rd cousin..
I left Oxford at 8.40 the following morning for Lincoln. it seems National Express like taking huge detours, it was over 5 hours from Gloucester to Oxford and yeah I know it is only 1 hour 30 min usually. Then it was over 7 hours to Lincoln due to having to go via London Victoria.
Well my next post is about my wonderful visit to Lincoln with Sarah, then my meeting with Josephine today. Now where am I going tomorrow.............hummmmmm you will all just have to wait and see.
