We stayed at "The Broadway Hotel" in Llandudno during the first weekend of March 2013. I arrived with a couple who were friends of my parents. Entering the hotel we left our bags (we arrived early) and we were asked who we were so rooms could be got ready for us. I told the lady of the hotel that my surname was Plaisted. "Oh you must be Claire." Wow nice personal welcome that was. I forgot to ask their names at first but I finally found out they were Cheryl and Fred.............oppps I mean Mark. Just to add to the fun their dog was called Spencer, I do wish I had gotten a photo of him - the dog that is.

The meals were fabulous, the service fantastic, the atmosphere great. The best bit about my room other than a comfy bed was a hot towel rail, sheer luxury having a warm towel after a shower.
I spoke to Mark and Cheryl. Apparently they have been to New Zealand a few times, love it here (Yes I am home now and catching up after jetlag). After a lovely Sunday lunch we return home, I wasn't sure if I would get their first or if my parents had, so it was very lucky I had a key.
It was lovely revisiting an old haunt with my parents, remembering and forgetting sometimes in my dads case. I followed the Alice in Wonderland trail with Oxford bear and Cariad lamb, you can read all about that in my last post.
I also meet up with an old flatmate who I haven't seen in about 21 years. Sharing a coffee and chatting was great. Of course there is a photo too.

The next lot of photos are of building in and around Llandudno, including a few churches, the beach, & the Victorian Pier. All muddled up together.

If memory serves me correctly this was once a theatre that was burnt down many years go. It is a listed building without been a building. Today it is an eyesore.
Hell of a long Pier - Fancy walking on water anyone
The holes in the rocks are part of the bronze age mines that were found on the Great Orme, now a tourist attraction.

This is where the fishermen go these days, I think at one time there were boats that took tourists around the bay.
You can just make out (if you look closely) the word Llandudno make out in white stones.
